Back up an editable project

1. Open the project in the editor.
2. Choose Projects, then Backup current project.
3. Keep the downloaded .gifworkspace file somewhere safe.
4. On the new browser or domain, open Projects and choose Import editable project.
5. Check the frame count, layers and timing, then save locally again.

Before the domain switch

Use the old app to export backups before switching away from its origin. Browser storage belongs to a specific origin; it does not automatically follow a custom-domain move. If the old and new apps share an origin, storage may remain but compatibility still needs verification. Keep backups either way.

After a trial ends

The access screen keeps backup downloads available for saved local projects. Paid editing access is separate from access to those backup files.

Autosave and recovery

Idle autosave runs after approximately 12 seconds without document changes. Manual Save provides immediate feedback. Clearing website data, private browsing, storage pressure or device loss can remove local work. An export GIF is flattened; use the editable project archive when you need layers and masks later.
